I own and operate a one person shop in a small town in coastal Maine. I began 27 years ago, building and repairing wooden boats, but for the past 20 years have been building furniture and cabinets. I have lived in New England for most of my life, and my style reflects that heritage. My work is grounded in traditional American forms, especially Shaker and colonial, and features what I call “updated classics.

Most of my work is custom, by which I mean that each piece is built to order, with a specific customer in mind. Many of my designs are the direct result of customer's ideas or requests. I do have a number of frequently repeated designs, such as this trestle table, that can be adapted to your particular needs.

I work in native American hardwoods, especially cherry, maple, and walnut. I make much use of special figure and interesting grain patterns. Being a small shop, where production is limited, special care is taken is taken to match and join pieces properly. I expect any piece that I make to be handed on to the next generation with pride!

My pieces are being enjoyed in many homes around the country. You can also find my work included in the “Custom Furniture Source Book: A Guide to 125 Craftsmen,” (Taunton Press, 2001). In addition, I have written articles for Fine Woodworking magazine, also published by Taunton.
When the website is up and fully built, you will be able to see the full range of my work. These images will give you some idea of my style and past work.

Please feel free to contact me for more information about individual pieces, pricing, availability, and ordering.
